Little Nightmares III is an adventure, horror, and platform video game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released in October 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Serving as a sequel to Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, the game follows two new child protagonists, Low and Alone, as they journey through The Nowhere while attempting to escape a looming and terrifying threat.

As with the previous entries in the series, Little Nightmares III takes place in a 2.5D universe. Players must explore the eerie world, occasionally encountering platforming sections or puzzles that must be solved to progress. The game can be played solo alongside an AI companion, similar to Little Nightmares II, which featured the character Six, or in online co-op mode with another player. The two main protagonists feature distinct gameplay mechanics — Low wields a bow and arrows, while Alone uses a key as her primary tool for interaction and defense.

In August 2023, Little Nightmares III was unveiled during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event.[5][6] Unlike its predecessors, the game is developed solely by Supermassive Games, rather than the franchise’s original developer.[7] Supermassive had previous experience with the Little Nightmares series, having worked on the enhanced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series ports of the previous installment.

Low, a boy wearing a raven mask, awakens from a haunting dream of a window reflected in a mirror. Guided by a mysterious piece of paper, he meets Alone, a girl in a green jumpsuit and aviator hat. Together, they explore the Spiral, a fragmented world of surreal lands. Their journey begins in the Necropolis, a desert city ruled by Monster Baby, a colossal doll whose gaze can turn victims to stone. After surviving an attack from beetles, the duo is captured and dropped into ruins. Low recalls a memory of hiding in a padded room from a looming shadow before awakening at night, comforted by Alone. Monster Baby returns but is driven off by a flock of birds. They find a mirror—Low passes through and pulls Alone with him, shattering it as they emerge.

They arrive in the Candy Factory, an industrial nightmare where the grotesque Herd labor endlessly under the watch of the Supervisor, a six-armed overseer. After disabling her cameras, they enrage her, forcing a chase through tangled pipes until they crush her in a hydraulic press. Passing through another mirror, Alone again shatters it and briefly loses consciousness.

Next, they reach the Carnevale, a vast airship amusement park run by living Puppets and attended by the Herd. Low, unable to pass through a broken mirror, discards his paper in despair—Alone quietly keeps it. They encounter the sinister Kin and the cannibalistic Mini-Kin, escaping in a burning hot-air balloon that is soon struck by lightning. Low recalls hiding his drawings and an Alone-like doll from the shadow in his memories.

The pair washes ashore at the Institute, a decayed facility from Low’s past. There, they use the Alone doll to restore pieces of reality and defeat the monstrous Hypnotist, whose fall brings the building down. Facing the mirror from Low’s dreams, Alone refuses to enter; Low pulls her through, but she is expelled as the mirror shatters. Alone vanishes, leaving behind her clothes and the paper—a drawing of the two smiling together.

In a post-credits scene, Low, now alone, tries to repair the broken mirror, determined to return to the Spiral and find her.
